For Sale! Computers: Linu X box

I've never really been in to game consoles myself, but after reading an article about running Linux on an Xbox, I decided it was something that was worth looking in to.

The Xbox itself is basically just a stripped down IBM PC. It runs an Intel Celeron at 733Mhz with 64mb RAM, a 10gb hard drive and DVD drive. It's got 4 built in USB ports, a 100mb ethernet port, and a nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card with TV output. All built in to a small, virtually silent, attractive case. Whilst that might not stand up to a lot of desktop PCs, it's more than enough to run Linux at a decent speed.

Notice anything odd about this computer desk? Maybe the lack of a huge beige box? (The small beige box is the sub-woofer. I can't remove that from the box, otherwise it won't woof!)

This is a cool computer I built up a few years ago. It's nothing special hardware wise, but, as you can see, the paint work is, well, non-standard :-)

Requium For A Dream Darren Arnofskys follow up to Pi is even more gripping then his first masterpiece. I first watched this film 2 years ago, and had fond memories of it being an excellently shot visual and audio fest with a nice plot twist, and a happy outcome. Well, watching it for a second time, I realise that I must have been so pleased with it the first time that I failed to notice how tragic the outcome was. I don't want to give too much away here, but this film gives some great insight in to addictions, whether they are drugs, coffee, TV, diets or women. A thoroughly delightful film despite the very dark aspects, and the lack of a Heppy Ever After ending.
